The Experience of Christ in the Local Church Revealed in the New Testament

In the New Testament age the types, figures, and shadows of Christ are over; they are no longer necessary because Christ has come. John 1:17 tells us that “grace and reality came through Jesus Christ.” We can now experience Christ as a present reality moment by moment and day by day. This experience of Christ is not only for the building up of the church (Matt. 16:16, 18), but is also very much realized by us in the context of the local church.

10. Experiencing Christ as our Rest at Home in the Church

11. Experiencing the One Who Makes Us Gates for Entering into the Realities of the Holy City

The eleven items above represent key aspects of the believers' experience of the reality of Christ. These experiences are greatly enhanced and strengthened by our participation in the local church.
